• Dissolvable Tablets and Oral Drops are commonly compounded in cases when patients have difficulty swallowing. Tablets are placed under the tongue where they quickly dissolve.
• Pills and Liquid Medications are commonly compounded in cases where alternate strengths are required or to avoid potential irritants or allergens such as gluten, dyes and preservatives. For patients who are unable to swallow pills, oral liquids allow the patient to receive the medicine is a variety of flavors that are free of sugars, alcohols, dyes and preservatives.
• Suppositories are ideal for patients who are unable to take medications orally. They are commonly used to treat conditions such as hemorrhoids, infections and inflammations.
• Topical Creams, Ointments, Gels, Powders and Spray allows absorption of the medicine directly through the skin. These items can be used for inflammation, nausea and pain management.
